So this here is another one of those recipes that make me pretty proud of my heritage and since it is the second last day of Heritage Month, why not have your cookie jar full of these deliciously sweet biscuits.

INGREDIENTS

• 2 cups flour
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• pinch salt
• 125 gr butter softened
• 1 cup sugar
• 50 ml instant espresso powder dissolved in 20 ml boiling water
• 1/2 cup golden syrup
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
• 2 cups icing sugar
• 80 gr butter room temperature
• 1 teaspoon instant espresso powder for icing

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Sift the flour, baking soda and salt.
2. Add the butter and mix until crumbly texture.
3. In another mixing bowl mix together the sugar, coffee, syrup and vanilla essence.
